step 1: install & permissions
download echo from the app store or google play. on first launch the app asks for a few things:
location_on
location accessneeded so echo knows when you enter a zone.
gps_fixed
background locationrequired for music to trigger when the app is closed or the screen is off.
music_note
media libraryneeded to browse and pick songs from your phone.
headphones
media controlsallows echo to show playback controls on the lockscreen and notification shade.
battery_unknown
unrestricted batteryprevents the system from killing echo when running in the background. recommended for reliable geofencing.
step 2: create a space
tap create. search for a place or just drop a pin. name it, set the radius, grab an album cover from your camera roll. then pick the songs.
priority matters. set a space to 1 and its music plays all the time, even when you are not in it. when two spaces overlap, the lower number wins. priority 2 overrides priority 3.
